In celebration of the Scandinavian connection to Alfred Nobel and the awards presented in his name, six organizations are hosting a gathering with representatives of Augsburg University and Gustavus Adolphus College sharing information about two upcoming Nobel Prize-related events. The August 28 event at Norway House is a social/networking occasion highlighting these prestigious forms of recognition for outstanding contributions to mankind.

The 2018 Nobel Peace Prize Forum: "The Paradox of Peace" will be held at Augsburg College on September 13-15, 2018, and will honor the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize laureates, President Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia and Beatrice Fihn, Executive Director of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN).

Gustavus Adolphus College hosts its 53rd annual Nobel Conference 2017 on October 2-3, 2018, on the theme "Living Soil: A Universe Underfoot"

The August 28 event is sponsored by American Swedish Institute, Augsburg University, Gustavus Adolphus College, Minnesota Peace Initiative, Norway House, and Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce Minnesota.
