Weekly on Tuesdays, Mindekirken, the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church in Minneapolis adjacent to Norway House, hosts a luncheon with a speaker or performance of interest to our community. This week: Bob Hest, a Norwegian- and Swedish-American painter and designer, whose work is on display at Norway House through October 28th in a collection entitled “The Ballad of Billy & Daisy.”
Bob Hest Bob Hest is a painter from Minneapolis. His work is in the collections of Vogue, Columbia University, and numerous private collections in the Midwest, New York City, and Martha's Vineyard.
“I grew up on the edge of the prairie in Western Minnesota. The big skies, the wildlife, and the expansive room for imagination shaped me as a painter…. I owe my mother, Beverly, for her discerning eye...genetics!”
For many years, Bob was a partner in a company that composed music for television commercials and for theater, including pieces that are in the permanent collection at MOMA in NYC.
