Together with families, friends, and neighbors, young and old, Norway House’s annual signature Holiday tradition Gingerbread Wonderland returns to the Gallery at Norway Housefor its 5th anniversary!
You’ll recognize familiar buildings and landmarks from the Twin Cities and beyond, created by friends and neighbors—everyone from your favorite local bakeries and cake wizards, to families and first-time gingerbread baking enthusiasts. All are encouraged to enter their dream cookie creation, regardless of their baking level! So get your friends together to bake, laugh, frost, and celebrate the warmth of the Holiday season—and the oven!
THREE WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:
Whatever your level of experience - hobby cookie enthusiast, a family who loves sweets, professional baker - ALL are invited to contribute a house, structure, or building to Gingerbread Wonderland. We will be accepting Gingerbread Houses throughout the run of Gingerbread Wonderland 2019! To be considered for a prize, please submit your structure between November 12 and November 19. Tell us what you’re making so we can be sure there aren’t any duplicates!
See your name in gingerbread! Norway House is dependent on financial support from sponsors of all kinds and donations of all sizes to make Gingerbread Wonderland a reality. If you are interested in supporting this sweet endeavor through sponsorship, please contact Christina Carleton or visit our sponsorship page here.
Starting on November 23rd (through January 5th), Gingerbread Wonderland at Norway House is open to visitors! Enjoy holiday treats at our Kaffebar and surround yourself in all things gingerbread. You can even arrange group visits for groups of 10 or more and get a discount admission if you schedule in advance. Contact Rachael Barnes to schedule a group tour.
Community Focused Giving
This year we will host a Hats & Mittens donation box in the Norway House lobby. Open from November 12, 2019 through January 5, 2020, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to give!
Hats & Mittens was organized in 1996 as a 501c3 for the purpose of raising money and visibility for various children’s charity in the community. The organization raises money, collects hundreds of hats and mittens for homeless children, and increases awareness of smaller and emerging non-profits serving children. Hats & Mittens is a team of local professionals - all volunteers - who work together for the purpose of celebrating the season and helping children in need.
