A Home for Your Family Story
Bygdelagenes Fellesraad and Norway House are excited to be partnering in the upcoming expansion of the current Norway House campus. Our partnership will mean that the bygdelag ("lags") who are members of Fellesraad will have a centralized home in Minneapolis, and that Norway House will be the national center for Norwegian genealogical research in the US. The expansion will include a research library, archives of existing lag documents, tech-ready workspaces, and a series of classes needed to introduce genealogy to a new generation of researchers.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
In 2018, founding donor and Norway House board member, Dr. John E. Haugo of Telelaget, challenged members of other lags to match $200,000 of his $500,000 gift toward the new facility to be known as the Haugo Genealogical Archives & Library. Less than a year later, we have met the initial challenge and jump-started this portion of the campaign. We’ve made great strides, but still have a way to go! You can donate online by clicking the button above, or by sending a check with memo specifying "Genealogy Library."
