Perceptions of Norway: A photographic exhibit on the identity of Norwegians today is a photographic exhibit that expands our viewpoints of Norwegians and their culture. For the first time, Norway House and Norway Art are proudcing an art display, downstairs in the Coltvet Room. Norway Art's collection is the source of the selections of art treasures from five Scandinavian countries. The Norway Art® Scandinavian art importing business is based at Norway House, Minneapolis where visitors make appointments at their convenience to view some of the art from the Norway Art collection and possibly choose a treasure for their home or office. Since 1979 when Mary Jo Thorsheim established the Norway Art business, fine prints and paintings have been imported to the United States and Canada.
Local Norwegian-American artist, Bob Hest, presents a series of witty paintings that chronicle the settlement of Western Minnesota's Red River Valley by Scandinavian Immigrants at the turn of the century.
