The Al Quie Fund
Dear Friend of Norway House,
Governor Quie’s formula for successful living is simple and straightforward: radical integrity, aggressive collaboration, and no excuses.
On June 15, 2017, the Norway House Board of Directors voted to name the Norway House Education Center in honor of Minnesota’s former Governor Al Quie in gratitude for his tireless efforts in serving Minnesota as it’s Governor, the United States as a Congressman, and Norway House as Honorary Chair of the Capital Campaign and his extraordinary efforts helping Norway House secure $5 million in bonding matching funds from the State of Minnesota.
Governor Quie walked the halls at the Capitol speaking passionately about Norway House, about his own Norwegian heritage. He talked about the sacrifices of our ancestors, the need for Minnesota to hold their history. Governor Quie made the case for building the bridge to contemporary Norway for the sake of the shared values of our two countries.
Norway House is excited to announce a $500,000 Challenge Grant campaign to help raise needed funds to build the Cultural Center adjacent to our existing Education Center! The Quie Fund, generously launched by two anonymous Norway House supporters, will match every gift and pledge given between September 15 and November 20 dollar for dollar up to $500,000. Every gift will get us closer to the $5 million matching gift from the State of Minnesota. Every gift will make a difference. Every gift counts!
Norway House has been built by many many people making sacrificial gifts to make the dream of a Norwegian cultural center a reality. We are halfway to our goal of completing a campus dedicated to preserving and celebrating our Norwegian heritage. The time is now to make your commitment, we need your help!
Will you consider a gift to the Quie Fund in celebration of Governor Quie’s dedication to radical integrity, aggressive collaboration, and our shared Norwegian heritage? Your gift will be matched TWICE!
