COMING OCTOBER 2025:
SAGA CENTER

Norway House in Minneapolis, MN is excited to announce the opening of their new interactive exhibit this October: the Saga Center. Located in the Haugo Bibliotek at Norway House, the Saga Center invites families of all ages to explore connections to Norway through hands-on experiences and immersive environments. Utilizing cutting-edge interactive technology, guests will immerse themselves in Norwegian and Norwegian-American arts, business, culture, and history.

The Saga Center follows the completion of Norway House's recent expansion, the KAHR Innovation + Culture Center in 2022, attended by Queen Sonja of Norway.

Saga Center Highlights:

  • Trunk Tales: Follow the incredible story of the Haugo family trunk and research journey in a lively audio-visual adventure through time.

  • Family History: Become a family history detective! Use the touchscreen and real research tools to solve three family history mysteries.

  • Explore Norway: Navigate 3D outdoor and urban Norwegian landscapes using motion-sensor technology while discovering friluftsliv (outdoor life) and byliv (city life)

  • Connect to Norway: Surrounded by a stunning fjordscape, choose your own adventure and discover how your family connects to Norway through culture, art, and more.

  • Troll Tunnel: Travelers beware! Legend has it that a mischievous troll dwells within the Saga Center tunnel!

The Saga Center was created in partnership with design firms Split Rock Studios and Trivium Interactive in collaboration with Salmela Architect, Monaghan Construction, and TEGRA Group.
