Embark on a culinary journey through millennia with renowned Norwegian food writer and television host Andreas Viestad. In this enlightening lecture, Viestad will delve into the rich tapestry of Norway’s food heritage, tracing its evolution from ancient times to the present day. Attendees will gain insights into how historical events, geography, and culture have shaped Norwegian cuisine.

The doors at Norway House open at 10:00am and the talk begins promptly at 10:30am in the Sundet Aula.

About Andreas Viestad:

Andreas Viestad is a celebrated Norwegian food writer, television chef, restaurateur, and food activist. He is best known as the longtime host of the international television series New Scandinavian Cooking, which has aired in over 70 countries, including the United States. Viestad has authored several acclaimed cookbooks, such as Kitchen of Light and Where Flavor Was Born, the latter earning the title of “Best Foreign Cookbook in the World” at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in 2008. His passion for food extends beyond the kitchen; he founded the Geitmyra Culinary Center for Children in Norway, aiming to educate young people about food and cooking.
