Capturing Your Life Stories: Legacy Writing with Brenda Hudson (4-Week Workshop)

  • Norway House 913 East Franklin Avenue Minneapolis United States (map)

Come to Norway House to create a written legacy of your life.

In this in-person 4-week workshop, you will be guided by writing instructor Brenda Hudson to examine your past and construct written vignettes or “captured moments” of your life. Using Brenda’s “story project” technique, you’ll identify themes and pivotal moments in your life, as well as your values and beliefs, as a way to organize your work. From this structure, you will write your life story by story, resulting in a collection of memories and the know-how to continue your legacy writing, if desired.

This workshop is open to individuals of all writing levels, from beginners to seasoned wordsmiths. Whether you aim to create a family heirloom, share insights with future generations, or simply enjoy the process of self-reflection, this writing workshop provides you with the tools and guidance to craft a lasting narrative of your unique life story.

In each session, you will learn a new “story project” technique and have hands-on writing time to get started on your stories. There will also be (optional) sharing opportunities and time to connect with fellow writers.

All you need for this workshop are a notebook and pen and/or a computer and your memories!
