Foundations of Icing for Gingerbread Houses

  • 913 East Franklin Avenue Minneapolis, MN, 55404 (map)

Instructor Maggie Durenberger is a Minnesota native who originally created Gingerbread Village in Queensland, Australia in 2013. She expanded the business to her native Minnesota in 2019. Since then, she's been creating gingerbread cookies and festive gingerbread house creations inspired by family traditions, quality ingredients, and holiday joy.

In this Norway House class, Maggie will show you useful icing tips including how to make at least two types of icing for gingerbread houses: a firm icing for construction and a thinner icing for decorating. It’s a fun, practical introduction to building and decorating beautiful gingerbread houses with confidence.

Gingerbread houses using Maggie's frosting recipes have held together throughout the duration of the Norway House Gingerbread Wonderland exhibit and beyond. We hope that after taking this class you feel inspired to build your own masterpiece to add to our upcoming Gingerbread Wonderland!
