Join Britt Ardakani, lifelong knitter with a relaxed teaching style will guide you through making a triangular scarf.
This class is for absolute beginners and people who haven't knitted for years and want a refresher. You will meet two times, Thursday, January 15 and Thursday, January 22. You will learn the following essential knitting skills:
1. Cast on
2. Cast off
3. Increasing
4. Decreasing
5. Garter stitch
6. I-cord edging
7. Reading a simple pattern
8. Knitting on circular needles
Britt will supply a skein of a soft wool yarn for each knitter in your choice of neutral colors. Your needles will also be supplied. Britt follows the advice of knitting designer and teacher Elizabeth Zimmerman and uses circulars so one does not drop a needle in one's drink. This is particularly relevant as Norway House will be hosting its Hygge Happy Hour with BOGO glass of beer or wine at the same time as class.
