Book talk: Memories of the German Occupation of Norway 1940-1945

Author John G. Brock-Utne was a small child in Norway during the Nazi occupation. He drew on the stories told to him by family and friends to write this collection of anecdotes illustrating what daily life was like under Nazi rule.

Additionally, he collected stories about the Norwegian Resistance and the bravery of those who took part in fighting. He brought these stories together in his book Memories of the German Occupation in Norway 1940–1945.

John G. Brock-Utne was born in Norway, studied medicine at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. He has worked in Ireland, Norway, South Africa, and the United States. He is an Emeritus Professor at Stanford University.
